Keeping the add-on updated is hard enough, updating the forum post as well is just too much... I'll start a new thread next time, and link to this old one.The opening post is very confusing:
- The post is dated 2010
- it says only BfW 1.18 is supported
- two notes are dated 2024

- BfW 1.12 supported, but active development only for BfW 1.13/1.14
I don't remember, but if that's a missed feature, I can add it. Or re-add it.Playing Bad Moon Rising, Part 2, finished Rescue.
Took a few steps, got into a skirmish, finished skirmish: When last orc killed, skirmish ended. No chance to admire my work. No chance to see which units were badly damaged. No message about gold accumulated (picked up some from bodies). Just BAM back on world map.
From World Map, couldn't find any way to save game.
Is that normal? It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure I used to wander the world map, picking fights to try to accumulate gold, and making saves with notes like how much gold and how chewed up my units were.
I tried updating the add-ons; then the game -- no change.
Generally what Konrad2 said. If you have a big force, it will be draining and also the enemies will tend to run away.Thank you.You can make money, by deploying mostly loyal units with 1-2 non loyal units that you train up and swap out as they level. Is it really possible to make money screwing around on the world map? It seems like the horrendous maintenance cost will just eat up all the gold I have, for very little collected from dead enemies. That's if the enemy chooses to fight. If they choose to run, I can't catch them.
Is it possible to control the initial deployment in a skirmish? It puts my magic user (who can move exactly one hex on anything other than a clear road) in the center. Since I can't view the Marching Order during the skirmish, I am not up to the challenge of figuring out how the position in the Marching Order translates to a position in that initial mob. And I can't find a way to change the Marching Order, anyway.
I do not know you can control the initial deployment.
If by Marching Order, you mean the Marching Formation, you can change it by rightclicking on your unit in the world map, and selecting 'Marching Formation'.
I'm not up to the challenge of guessing how many units I will need to handle the next random skirmish.
I have seen the Marching Formation screen. I can select which units will be active in a skirmish. I was looking for more control over how they were deployed initially. Most units can move enough so I can compensate, but that magic user is absolutely crippled by ice, snow, hills, rough, or chance of rain. Like I said, exactly one hex per turn until he slogs his way to a clear road.
The is no control over starting positions, I'm not even sure what it would mean. I suppose everyone could start in a line, like they were following each other down a small trail. Then you could control the order.
For the Mage in the snow, there should be some snow-shoes you can give him that will help. If they need to be more obviously available, that can be fixed.
It might be a bug, hard to tell. What do you think should have happened?I thought I had seen some mention already, but since I can't find it now:
In Forest Confrontation, when I got close to General Burton he had something to say but all he got out was "...decided to bite the hand that feeds". When that was all he had to say, I hoped he had died of apoplexy, but it looks like I have to keep slogging.
