I suspect the difficulty would lie in determining what is abandoned. I've personally been quite conservative yet it isn't guaranteed. Still I do think it would be nice to have a reference based on, I guess, number of years since last update. From there us ressurectors (sp?) can check them out and use our judgement as to whether it really is abandoned.
